My Newest Batch of DIY Wristlet Keyfobs

I've been quickly working to complete some more wristlet keyfobs before my upcoming craft show at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lennox, IL on Oct 22nd.

To make the fobs, I adhere the ribbon to cotton webbing and then sew it down. I then sew the ends together, snip the ends on an angle and finish the top with fray-check.  After the ends are dried, I attach the hardware.  I think that this makes a high quality keyfob.

These are the last of the 7/8 inch ribbon fobs, because I am out of the 1 inch hardware.  Damn I have a Back to the Future design that is really cool.

Also this is a new item for me, and I don't want to make too many.  However, at the Romeoville Autum Colors Fair, I sold two fobs. So fobs maybe a permanent addition to my items.

Below are the newest wristlet key fob items.

(I am not an authorized dealer or affiliated with the Chicago BEARS, or CUBS.  I am not affiliated with the Star Trek Corporation.  And I do not have any affiliation with the US Navy.  All the ribbon used was purchased. And all the below are one of a king handmade items.  )

Been really busy running the sewing/embroidery machine.  So busy that it almost had a melt down.  I tell you it was smoking!

So what did I embroider?   Bookmarks of course!

Ten New Fabric Bookcovers

Well, it's been a while.
Why?
Because I am in the midst of making tons of stuff.

Yep, the Creative Sewing Muse took up residence in my house.
Where?
In the craft room of course ( Really this is OK, because it is a extra bedroom and the Muse can relax on the bed if she is tired.  All the spreading of creativity IS tiring of course!)

Below are 10 of the newest sewn Composition Bookcovers.  This year I've added a ribbon page keeper to most of them and some are embroidered.

Not enough money to visit Asia?  You can enjoy it anyway with cover.  No crowds, except those who will be crowding around your desk to see it.  It has a gold metallic ribbon divider and the picture fabric has some gold paint.

Cover your ears beause you'll get a bang out of the below.  Here is a cover using Big Bang themed material (I am not affliated with the TV show Big Bang and am not a representative.  This is a hand made item.)

Need to get the cat off your lap and on your desk?   Try using this Crazy Cat cover to lure your purrfect pet away.

They say the world has gone to the dogs and this cover shows it!  Try to find your favorite breed in the pack.

Do you believe in fairies?  No? Well, they ARE hard to spot outside the woods and disappear leaving only a little fairy dust..  This embroidered cover caught a fairy while she was collecting her daily golden dust.  Believe now?

How many times have you tried to hold your horses, but they got away?  This one made it onto a cover.  Hold on to this cover tight.

Always dancing to your OWN tune?   The below flutist can help.   The embroidered cover can get you on the right note.

Are you a baseball fan? Me neither.  But the fans around here made me embroider a favorite team.  This has you covered even though your not a baseball fan, because the fans in Wrigleyville are used to playing a different type of game.  ( I am not affiliated  with  or a  representative of the Chicago CUBS .  This is a one of kind hand made item.)

Go under the sea without getting wet with this cover.  Mermaids rock to their own music ( I am not affiliated  with  or a  representative of the Disney .  This is a one of kind hand made item.)

Find a little colorful golden friend.  Okay, she is a little different but she can can really help with your swimming lessons.  This cover has a embroidered pix of her, taken with my underwater camera.

I hope you enjoyed my newest creations.  You better or the Sewing Muse will not be pleased.

Working on new handcrafted fabric compostion notebook covers

Hey all, just a note to you and myself....

I am doing well in the recovery from my carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand.

Doing so well in fact, that I have started the great handmade craft-a- thon for 2014.

Who Hoo!

Not whooo whoo -lol

Pixs to follow when stuff completed.

Here's the new ideas for 2014

  • embroidered bookcovers
  • handcrafted beads and wire charms for bookmarks
  • more TV and Film themed bookcovers
  • handcrafted smart pad covers ( made one for my sister and she loved it)
  • more spiral notebooks TV, Musicians, and Film themes
About 3/4 way done on all the bookcovers.

And if my fabric and idea addiction will be controlled -lol- these will be completed by August 1st. (God willing and the sewing machine holds up),

BTW I am saving up to buy some embroidery software.  I got tons of my own designs that are demanding er requesting a leap from transfer application to thread application.

Geesh this software is SOOooooo expensive.  And then there is the fund for another bigger and better embroidery machine.....

Having a relaxing summer?   What's that?
